When It Rains, It Pours Design. Fornasetti Umbrellas & Holders.
If It's Hip, It's Here 20 Mar 2010, 8:00 am CET

I've written about some wonderful Piero Fornasetti products in the past and now here's the latest collection of umbrellas and umbrella stands from the Italian brand.
Fornasetti Umbrellas:

The Fornasetti umbrellas shown above are available here at European Umbrellas.com and are less expensive than the ones shown below from Barneys. Even with the additional 19% VAT and $43.00 to ship to the US, they still come out to less.
Fornasetti Umbrellas at Barney's:

The above umbrellas have long wood handles and each sell for $260.00, available at Barney's.
Fornasetti umbrella holders:

The above Fornasetti umbrella holders and more not shown here, are all available at Unica Home. Prices start at $1,170.00.

Ständigt denne Paul
Herr Alarik 19 Mar 2010, 10:14 pm CET
Gå bara in här. Det är Wake Up The Nation (Zinc Remix) och den tidigare omtalade No Tears To Cry (Leo Zero Remix). This is the modern world.

Album: SHYHEIM – The Lost Generation
Tidskriften POP revisited 19 Mar 2010, 5:16 pm CET
SHYHEIM
The Lost Generation
Noo Trybe/Virgin
I »What Makes the World Go Round« förklarar körsångarna att det är kring Shaolin som jorden egentligen snurrar.

Up Close and Personal with a Baby Squirrel Monkey
ZooBorns 19 Mar 2010, 2:45 pm CET
On February 1st, the Edmonton Valley Zoo welcomed a tiny baby squirrel monkey. For the next six to ten weeks, the curious but cautious baby will hitch a ride on its mom's and aunts' backs. Until the baby becomes a bit more independent and starts venturing out on its own, zoo staff cannot be sure whether the little ball of monkey is a boy or girl.

It's all monkeying around with Edmonton Valley Zoo's latest addition, a baby squirrel monkey born at the zoo on February 1.
Proud mother Mia will let the infant ride on her back for the next six to 10 weeks and on the backs of other female monkeys who will step in as aunts. Once the baby becomes more independent, zookeepers will be able to examine the infant to determine its gender.
“We prefer to let mom and baby stay together as they would in the wild. We’re keeping an eye on them both, and baby looks strong and healthy and is growing well,” said Sandy Helliker, head zookeeper.
The as yet unnamed monkey joins its sisters Keisha and Keeley in the Saito Centre at the Edmonton Valley Zoo.
Squirrel Monkeys are native to the forests of Central and South America and the largest monkey group in the world. Squirrel Monkeys are quite agile and are good jumpers. Their diet consists of fruit, nuts, insects, birds, eggs, spiders, seeds and leaves. Their average lifespan is nine to 20 years. Deforestation, hunting, collection for research and pet markets, and mosquito-spraying programs have all had a detrimental effect on these monkeys.
The Edmonton Valley Zoo Squirrel Monkeys are part of the Population Management Program designed to ensure demographic and genetic health in the species. As part of the program, the captive Squirrel Monkey population are closely tracked and animals will be lent out to other zoos to maintain diversity within the species. The baby’s father, Bobby, came to the Edmonton Valley Zoo from Riverview Park and Zoo in Ontario in 2003.
Luck of the Irish for Lowry Park Zoo Visitors
ZooBorns 19 Mar 2010, 1:35 pm CET
Bearing soft brown and white stripes instead of the traditional Irish green, an endangered Grevy’s zebra foal was born on exhibit at approximately 1:45 p.m. wednesday (St. Patrick’s Day) at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo. Zoo animal care staff observed the entire labor and delivery, along with a small crowd of curious guests who lingered in an area near the exhibit for more than an hour to be on-hand for the rare opportunity to see a newborn zebra. The endangered species is named after Jules Grévy, a president of France, who, in the 1880s, was given one by the government of Abyssinia.

Simon Pestridge From Nike Make Future Advertising Sound Simple
Blog of Ronnestam 19 Mar 2010, 11:18 am CET
Apple, Nike, adidas, Google and so on. It’s always easy to point the wow pointer to these huge brands that have massive amounts of brand fans world wide. But sometimes you’ve just gotta remind people about why these brands often are leading the pack.
I have just gotten of stage in Tallin, Estonia after speaking on the future communication landscape. Right now I’m in a sofa listening to James Matthewson just now quoted Nike and I just have to share that quote cause it’s what it’s all about:
Nike’s point of view on advertising: “We don’t do advertising any more. We just do cool stuff…It sounds a bit wanky, but that’s just the way it is. Advertising is all about achieving awareness, and we no longer need awareness. We need to become part of people’s lives and digital allows us to do that”
Simon Pestridge – Nike UK
And boy do they deliver on that promise. Here’s just one of thousands of projects they do every year to make people join their brand.
Do great stuff and people will follow you. That goes for products, services, support, communication and advertising. It’s a simple as that!

First and never
Seth's Blog 19 Mar 2010, 11:07 am CET
I met a new addition to the family the other day. She was eleven days old.
It was the warmest day of her whole life the day I was there. And she had just eaten her biggest meal ever.
Firsts are fun and exciting and it's neat to keep topping ourselves.
I've also come to grips with the fact that I'm never going to eat tuna ever again, and that I'm never going to be able to easily walk onto a shuttle flight at the last minute and just show up in Boston. Never is a lot harder than first, but I guess you get used to it.
The internet is like Ice 9. It changes what it touches, probably forever. We keep discovering firsts, the biggest viral video ever, the most twitter followers ever, the fastest bestseller ever... And we constantly discover nevers as well. There's never going to be a mass market TV show that rivals the ones that came before. There's never going to be a worldwide brand built by advertising ever again either. And Michael Jackson's record deal is the last one of its kind... And there may never be a job like that job you used to have either.
Revolutions are like that. They invent and destroy and they only go one way. It's like watching a confused person in a revolving door for the first time. They push backwards, try to slow it down, fight the rotation... and then they embrace the process and just walk and it works.
